THE BEDEAN CHARACTERISTICS

THE BEDEAN CHARACTERISTICS

1. To be always friendly with one another in and out of school.

2. To avoid vulgarity in talk and behaviour.

3. To accept whatever work is assigned
to us as our rightful share.

4. To offer help to any unattended visitor we happen to meet in the school premises.

5. To rise and respectfully greet members of the staff, parents or visitors whenever we meet them.

6.To be courteous to and sportsmanlike with opposing teams and officials.

7.To respect the beauty of the school premises, class rooms, school building
and to report any damage which we may observe.

8.To avoid spilling ink in the class room, dropping pencil shavings and papers
on the premises and to pick up any such things dropped by others.

9.To learn and observe good manners at table and else where. These traditions are little things in themselves and they cannot be enforced since this would destroy their value. The desire to observe them must come from within and must be genuine; on these can one's character be made.

THE TYPE OF BOY YOUR PARENTS AND TEACHERS WANT YOU TO BE

1.One who is pure in thought, work and deed.

2.One who never makes fun of the old or the poor, no matter how decrepit or unfortunate they may be, God's hands rest lovingly on the heads of the aged and the poor.

3.One who never cheats or is unfair at play. Cheating is contemptible anywhere and at any age. Play should strengthen, not weaken character.

4.One who is never cruel? You must not hurt a fly needlessly. Cruelty is the trait of a bully. Kindness is the mark of a gentleman.

5.One who never makes fun of a companion because of the misfortune or a handicap which he cannot help.

6.One who never hesitates to say 'no' when asked to do a thing which he knows to be wrong.

7.One who never quarrels. When your tongue gets unruly, lock it in.

8.One who is always ready to lend a helping hand at home to his parents, in school to his teachers and his companions?

9.One who always faces difficulties courageously and cheerfully?

10.One who does not lament over the evils of the world but tries to make the world better by his example. Remember that, it is better to 'light one candle, than to curse the darkness'.
